Windows 10 Realtek Driver Download Install Update
The problem I have with the drivers is that it sounds very tinny. I know that it has to be the driver files as the speakers had great sound in 8. Sorry this didn't help. Just a thought, have you checked if the speaker settings are set to 5. If not, Look at the icons near the digital clock for the Realtek speaker symbol brown and double left click to get settings window. If it's not there, right click on white speaker symbol and select Playback Devices.
The version of the drivers mentioned in my post are specifically designed for Windows 10 - there should NOT be any compatibility problems with the driver set. I have checked prior to posting here and yes, the speakers I have and the choice of speaker type is correctly set to Stereo - there is no Full-Range Speakers choice listed.
I ran into the same problem and followed the same steps. I was able to fix it by updating the driver directly from the device manager.
