HELP! CAN'T INSTALL (OR UNINSTALL ) MY PIXMA PRINTER IN WINDOWS 8
Initially I just plugged in the printer. Windows would automatically install the drivers and it would succesfully print. However, it wouldn't scan. Therefore, I picked up the manual and read you should install the software on the cd-rom supplied together with the printer, before connecting the printer to the computer. So I uninstalled the printer from Devices, confirmed the printer is no longer listed under devices, and did a reboot with the printer disconnected from the computer and turned off. Now I insert the printer's cd-rom and select to install the drivers from the menu that the cd-rom presents. This produces the following error message: If you are not using the printer driver, it may be used by other users on this computer. Exit all applications and printer properties and then try again. If you still have a problem, restart the computer and then try again. In the Task Manager, I don't see any applications that I suspect use the printer. Also rebooting and immediately starting the cd-rom, just produced the same error.
